The Swedish company Assa Abloy opens a research and development division in Cracow. It plans to hire about 60 specialists.
The branch is located in Cracow’s Special Economic Zone in Zabierzów. Engineers working in it will be responsible for research and development of new solutions in the field of electromechanical security systems and access control.
As announced by Joanna Skalbaniok, Poland’s Marketing Director of Assa Abloyt – the new investment in the Cracow Technology Park is one of the elements of a development policy that has been successfully implemented over 10 years.
“Our ambition is to become the most innovative company in its sector and to have the annual increase in profitability of around 10 %.”– said Joanna Skalbaniok.
She added that the door safety devices manufactured by Assa Abloy are used around the world. In Poland, the door safety devices are used in the Sejm, Senate, Stock Exchange and Warsaw metro.
Assa Abloy Group started its activities in 1994. Today, its products are distributed to more than 70 countries, and the number of employees is rapidly approaching 50.000. The company is a world leader in electromechanical security segment, such as access control, identification technology, door automation, hotel security and a variety of solutions in the field of security designed for individual users.
The Cracow branch was established in 1997. The current amount of capital investment is 3.8 billion zł and 17,ooo new jobs
